Thank you for joining the Age-Friendly CU Steering Committee in celebrating Active Aging Week 2025! Enjoy over thirty different activities for people age 50 and better in our community! Participate in Active Aging Week with these agencies: Champaign Park District, Champaign-Urbana MTD, ClarkLindsey, CRIS Healthy Aging, Family Service of Champaign County, Illinois Extension, Minds in Motion, PACE, Inc., Parkland College, Synergy HomeCare, The Urbana Free Library, Urbana Park District, UIUC College of Applied Health Sciences, Villas of Holly Brook, and more! The overarching goal of Active Aging Week is to challenge society's negative perceptions of aging by demonstrating that individuals over 50 can thrive in all aspects of life, including physical, social, spiritual, emotional, intellectual, vocational, and environmental domains, regardless of age or health. All of these agencies provide older adults with opportunities to engage in wellness activities and exercise in safe, supportive environments, promoting the benefits of healthy, active lifestyles throughout the lifespan.
