Trace the ecology and history of the Sangamon River from its headwaters near Bloomington, through Champaign County, Decatur, and Springfield, until it reaches the Illinois River. Topics include Abraham Lincoln's connection to the river, freshwater mussels, and recreational opportunities on the Sangamon. Join us to learn more about this Central Illinois treasure.
About the presenter: Morgan Duerksen-Balk is environmental public program specialist for the Champaign County Forest Preserves. She is educated in both natural resources and elementary education, and conducts programs all over Champaign County at the 7 Forest Preserves and beyond.
