This is the only available local option for residents to properly dispose of HHW. These events are for ALL State of IL residents; only one reservation per household is necessary. DID YOU KNOW!? There is a new Paint Recycling Program as of Dec 2025! Operated by the nonprofit Paint Care; there are several local establishments in the C-U area where you can drop off paint to be recycled: Sherwin Williams (in Champaign, Urbana, and Savoy), RP Lumber, and Neimann Ace Hardware.
PLEASE NOTE: There are long-term drop-off HHW facilities up north and one in SW IL in Madison County: CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO
Additionally, Champaign County Environmental Stewards (CCES), a local non-profit group, is working towards the creation of a HHW facility here in Champaign County. Please visit their website to learn more about their mission!
These HHW events are IEPA-Sponsored and co-hosted by Champaign County, City of Champaign, City of Urbana, and Village of Savoy, and again, it is open to ALL Illinois residents.
