Ecstatic dance is a liberating, sober, free-form movement experience where you dance however you want to music, with no set steps, choreography, or judgment. It is a safe, welcoming "moving meditation" that combines a great workout with deep emotional release, allowing you to get out of your head and into your body’s natural rhythm.
No Experience Needed: It is not about "knowing how to dance," but rather allowing your body to move freely, even if that means lying on the floor or just swaying.
Safe Space: It is typically a judgment-free, shoe-free, and substance-free environment.
The "Journey": Sessions are usually guided by group leaders, starting with an introduction to the space and some instruction about community agreements, then the music will bring us into a slow, warm-up, peaking in high-energy, sometimes wild dancing, and settling into a calm, gentle close.
Authentic Connection: It allows for connection with oneself—releasing emotions—and others, without the expectations of a nightclub scene.

Ecstatic Dance is a donation-based offering. Even though a $25 recommended donation is an option as a pre-register on the website, please contribute what feels right for you. You can also register and save your space without paying online. Venmo and cash options will also be available at the event.
