UC Books to Prisoners Fall Benefit Book Sale

Every fall for one day, UC Books to Prisoners raises money for its mission by selling the surplus of the books that are donated for only $1-$2 each. There will be approximately 8,000 gently-used books for sale, including text books, children's books, young adult books, reference, fiction; nearly every subject is represented. In addition there will be "Mystery Bags" of books, Novel Jewelry (little book earrings and keychains), baked goods, and other merchandise. The book sale is a family friendly, community tradition. Falling on Halloween Day, we welcome costumes!
UC Books to Prisoners is a 20-year-old, community driven, volunteer run project of the Independent Media Center whose mission is to provide free books to people incarcerated in Illinois and to foster education and awareness of our prison system.
